Father’s Day in Cody, Wyoming

Day 14 – We woke to a new day in a new town, without a truck but with high expectation combined with concern. Last night when Brian dropped us off at the Absaroka RV Park, the place looked like a zoo. Actually it looked more like trying to find a parking place at a large frat party. When Brian towed us in last night, I was apprehensive about staying here. The Park was on overflow, full to the max. In the dark it looked like a slum and I even asked Mom to call the KOA and ask again if they could find us any open site. But alas, as I mentioned, this Park had the very last open spot in town. Our site was in the back corner of the park and so small that if we did have Big Red, there would have been no place to park her. The morning showed a different story. Behind us is an open field of prairie grass with trees all around. We can see the mountains behind the trees. Although we are on the highway, the noise is not bad and directly across is a large lake. We have a nice little patch of grass outside our door and the best part is the cost at $25 per night. Most likely we will be here for several days.

We spent the whole day in the RV Park with a couple of short walks – one to the Burger King next door and one to Albertson a 1/4 mile away. Patti of course took a few more walks – one to the consignment store and one to the K-Mart, both were near by. Ma and Patti cooked us a great dinner. Did I mention that it is Father’s Day?

It seemed a lot worse last night in the dark

Did I mention it is Father's Day

Everything goes better with Mickey

Our view of the lake when our neighbors are gone
We really are in Cody - everyone in town now knows that we have a daughter named Cody

Did I mention that it' Father's Day
