Day 19 - Home to Arizona

Day 19 – We were up and on the road early; breakfast at McDonalds in the unusual town of Moab, Utah and then on through the desert into Navajo country. It has been a few days since we have seen any green. Even though there is a real beauty in the desert, we all are missing the green. Patti’s camera went wild through the Monument Valley. I finally had to insist that she stop and let the poor machine cool off. It is hot and dry but unusually beautiful. The day is long and once again by the time we hit Flagstaff, I am overly tired. Pulling a fifth wheel through Flagstaff in full traffic just about pushed me over the edge. Added to the stress was the fact that I could not find the RV Park and before I knew it, I had made the whole loop and now was right back where I started. I fought the same traffic again for the second time. By the time I found the park and got set up, I was exhausted and completely rude. I don’t want to go into full detail but my mom got so mad at me that she called me a “son of a bitch”. Of course when it slipped out, I am sure she did not immediately realize the irony – but I did and started laughing. It lightened up the tension, at least on my end. I still find it comical.

After my apologies, a shower and a short nap, I was feeling pretty good. All in all it turned out to be a nice evening. Our site was in the middle of large pine trees and although we did not have TV or Wifi, we have pretty much gotten used to not knowing what is going on in the world. We were without TV more than we had it.
